UGA's APhA-ASP Chapter is looking to fill the position of First-Year Liaison (FYL) for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. The FYL is an integral part of the operation of APhA-ASP and provides a valuable learning opportunity to an emerging leader in the P1 class. FYLs are considered part of our Chapter’s Executive Committee, and FYL roles include, but are not limited to:
Serving as the collective voice of the first year class and maintaining two-way communication with the class in regard to APhA-ASP.
Regularly informing fellow P1s of pertinent APhA-ASP updates, happenings, and involvement opportunities.
Shadowing other chapter student leaders to learn more about the operations and governance of the organization.
Assisting with the planning of at least one event throughout the year, to be identified by the Chapter President and/or Vice President of Patient Care.
In addition to the roles listed above, the FYL is expected to actively engage in the organization by attending General Body Meetings and other events as availability reasonably permits. FYL attendance is also requested at our chapter’s monthly Executive Board Meetings.
Historically, FYLs have used this position as a springboard for future leadership positions within the UGA APhA-ASP chapter and have regularly served as Presidents and Vice Presidents within our Chapter. With this position, it prepares an interested and engaged pharmacy student for continued leadership at UGA and beyond.
If you are interested in this position, please fill out and submit the application above by Friday, August 22nd at 11:59pm. After the application deadline, the Executive Board will select a pool of candidates to interview from the applications they have received and reviewed. Interviews will take place on Wednesday, August 27th from 5-8 pm (candidates will receive an approximately 15-minute time slot). Candidates will be notified of final decisions by Tuesday, September 2nd during Org Hour.
Please direct any questions about the application, position, or interview process to our President, Collin Sanders
